Learning Objectives:
- Introduction to green design past, present, and future; including green building programs, such as LEED, GBI, and NC HealthyBuilt Homes; and topics such as biomimicry.
- Overview of integrated design concepts as they apply to green building practices, including project team assembly, project planning, commissioning, and interactive design. Introduction to the big issues and concepts that green homes need to address: land, water, energy, air, and resource use.
- Overview of building science concepts in residential green building; including designing the home as a whole, energy transfer, and climate effects.
